Piero Tartaro

Biography

Dr. Piero Tartaro obtained his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 2003. He subsequently completed his training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Western University. Following residency, he obtained a MScCH (Health Practitioner Teach Education Stream) at the University of Toronto. He currently works as a Gastroenterologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Tartaro has contributed to the education and teaching of medical students and residents in various capacities over the years. At the pre-clerkship level, he was the previous Peters-Boyd Academy lead for the DOCH2 program. He was later involved in creating the GI weeks as part of the pre-clerkship curriculum renewal and continues to be involved as the lead for those weeks. At the clerkship level, he was the prior site lead for the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship. At the post-graduate level, Dr. Tartaro is the site lead for GI education at Sunnybrook as well as the assessment lead for the Gastroenterology training program. At the national level, Dr. Tartaro is the regional lead for the Royal College GI Subspecialty Committee.
