Louise Perlin

Biography

Dr. Louise Perlin received her MD degree from McGill University in 1981 where she also trained in General Internal Medicine. This was followed by her Rheumatology fellowship at the University of Toronto where she has enjoyed a rewarding and impactful career since.

Dr. Perlin is Division Head of Rheumatology, St. Michael’s Hospital and Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Toronto. She has been a clinician-teacher for the last 35 years, recognized for her outstanding teaching and mentorship skills, and her patient advocacy. She has been nominated for and received numerous teaching and mentorship awards at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Dr. Perlin's practice encompasses the broad spectrum of rheumatic disease with a strong emphasis on inflammatory disorders and until recently, Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis patients transitioning from the Hospital for Sick Children’s.
