Kris Nair

Biography

Dr Krish Nair is Associate Professor, Department of Medicine and Clinician Teacher at the University of Toronto. He is the Program Director for the Area of Focused Competence in Cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Toronto for its three accredited electrophysiology fellowship programs and the Fellowship Program Director for Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University Health Network.

He was a recipient of the Dr. Vera Rose Award for Excellence in Adult Congenital Heart disease (ACHD) Teaching in 2019 for outstanding teaching in ACHD at UHN; and the Robert J Chisholm Award of the University of Toronto in 2017 for outstanding teaching and mentorship of subspecialty fellows in Cardiology at the University of Toronto.

Dr Nair’s clinical and research focus is on ablations and devices in adult congenital heart disease. Dr Nair has more than one hundred peer reviewed publications and is a peer reviewer for multiple journals including Circulation: Arrhythmia And Electrophysiology.

Dr. Nair has initiated several interventional electrophysiologic programs at the University of Toronto. This includes the baffle puncture program for ablation of arrhythmias in complex anatomies as well as programs addressing physiologic pacing (left bundle pacing) and leadless pacemaker implantation. He has helped make the electrophysiology unit at the Toronto General Hospital one of the premier national centers for ablations and device implants in complex congenital heart diseases. The training opportunities he has developed have attracted fellows from all over the world.
