James Maskalyk

Biography
James Maskalyk is a physician, author, activist and Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine. He has made a career at the University of Toronto practicing and teaching principles of humanitarian action as seen from his position in the emergency rooms at both St. Michael's and Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa. He is a Medecins Sans Frontieres, and has written two bestselling books on an-ever deeper practice of medicine. He has fostered physician wellness in Canada and abroad, introducing it as a key concept vital as the physical exam, and teaches meditation to health care workers and the public.
